Monopoly - Nintendo DS Gameplay
0This is the Nintendo DS version of EA's adaptation of Monopoly. Unlike the main counterpart for home consoles (or even the PSP minis release), this is just a pure game of Monopoly on the DS. I'm guessing that due to the filesize limit on the DS cart, as well as the hardware being weaker than its PSP counterpart, EA decided to make the DS version more of a simple, "easy to pick up and play" version compared to its more full blown console contemporaries. The PSP version at the very least retained the unlockable board themes from the console versions.

*iOS and Android versions have been delisted since then due to EA's license expiring and are now replaced with Marmalade Studios' mobile adaptations.
FUN FACT: There are actually *two* games of Monopoly released for the DS. Besides the EA adaptation, there's also a different adaptation of Monopoly that's part of a compilation, which also includes Boggle, Battleship and Yahtzee. That compilation was developed by Sensory Sweep (who also made Capcom Puzzle World and Tom & Jerry Tales video games) and published by Atari SA. In fact, Atari's DS version was released three years before EA's version.
