Monster Hunter Freedom (PSP) - (1 ★ Village Quest | Basics: Finding Raw Meat)
Hey all! Been awhile, mostly because I was job hunting and also recording some monster hunter.
I settled for just finishing the village quests for now, the guild quests will be for another time. But yeah, it's mostly because of friends that I decided to do monster hunter. I grew up with Gen 2 but never got into it sadly.
What makes this game fun? Excluding the grinding bits, it's mostly the hunting that makes it fun. You start out small before taking down bigger and more menacing monsters. The gathering is a bit tedious but that's essentially part of the hunt as well, gathering resources to survive and for upgrades.
The monsters themselves are really awesome and huge, sure you fight them over and over but it never gets repetitive given how strong they are, it's uber fun with friends as well. The difficulty is just right since the game has levels of difficulty indiacted by how many stars there on the quest.
Should you try Gen 1 though? It's hard to recommend given how slow it is but if you really want the challenge, then stick to hammer. Once you have access to the swamp, you can grind the sootstone ore quest for a little money and hope you can come across some light crystals for the crystal hammer then upgrade to Crystal Nova. I honestly can't remember how I got the light crystals, could be from the mining in the swamp or mining spot at the farm before tackling Cephadrome.
Anyways, the biggest reason why I wanted to do MH is because of "proof of a hero." The overall blast of chivalry it sends is really awesome! I'll be uploading 2 quests per day so stay tuned and I hope you all enjoy!
