Fantastic game, combines the quality of life improvements from World and the depth of Gen U. But the it does it at a nice pace. The armor design is top notch, significant improvement from World. Reminds me of 4U where early monster armor looks great and is functional for a long time if you want it to be. Combat is extremely smooth and slick. Every now and then the button commands are a little off but never doing combat. Exploration is encouraged, with the palamute and wirebug you can zip around quickly. While in World you felt like you were in an ecosystem, this game brings back the feeling of multiple battle arenas combined to make a map for you to go toe-to-toe with the monster. Each has their benefits. But the combat, significant improvement to monster design, and weapon/armor look may put this game over world and provide that experience that some MH vets had with World. It really is a glorious combination of Old World and New World in this game, and when all is said and done this may become the greatest MH yet. Lots of free support plus G Rank/Master Rank to come. If you have a switch, go buy this game and learn the mechanics. Arguably one of the top 5 switch games ever already.
