These offline quests start to get harder once you reach this mission.

The main quest is to catch this funny, birdlike monster known as a Qurupeco. Subquest A involves being able to Pitfall Trap it, and Subquest B involves getting a Wyvern Tear. This is only one of the few attempts that I made towards this mission, but here, I only get the Main Quest done, even after being defeated once.

The Qurupeco has a frog-like throat sac that allows it to imitate a call of a different monster, such as Rhenoplos, Felynes, and even Great Jaggi. You're going to probably end up fighting a GJ and Qurupeco at once, since the GJ is in the cutscene that the Qurupeco makes it debut.

It's weaker areas are its head and its throat sac, though attacking it from the front is pretty danger based on what it can do. It can shoot acid, tail whip, throw sand or water at you with its tail...

There are flints on its wings that it uses for fire attacks. One of them, to which I'd like to call its ultimate attack, involves stomping around while triggering explosions.

Bring a paintball so you can track. Since it flies it can easily escape. You can also bring a Sonic Bomb just to stop it from performing an imitation call. Once again, although I don't do it here, you can bring a Pitfall Trap against it, especially if you want to complete Subquest A.You can also weaken it by breaking its beak and the flint on its wings. You're going to be in the extremely hot areas most of the time fighting this thing, or the really cold areas. It depends on the whether it's day or night.

Also, try to take care of Cha-Cha. His support can actually help you out of a jam at times.

As shown in 27:14, when you lose all of your health, you never actually die, you just faint, like a weak level 2 Bug Pokémon that got hit by a Level 100 Charizard's Flame Blast. If you faint in Monster Hunter Tri during a quest, you get penalized by losing some of the potential reward money you could've won.

All it takes is a quartet of friendly Felynes and a ride on a hospital bed back to your base to completely heal you from your defeat. Luckily, the monsters you're after will still be damaged from before you fainted.

So from there, I get my revenge on the Qurupeco, slay him, and take his materials once and for all!
