Monster Hunter: World PS5 Backwards Compatibility Test—Prioritize Resolution 4K60
This is Monster Hunter: World for the PlayStation 4 played on a PlayStation 5. Like my first PS5 backwards compatibility video, the graphics settings is set to Prioritize Resolution. The biggest difference is that this video is recorded in 4K instead of 1080p.
Prioritize Resolution gives you the best of both worlds: high resolution and high framerate. On PlayStation 4 Pro, this mode would usually run between 30 to 45fps. On PS5, the framerate is locked at 60fps. This is the same for the other two modes, those being Prioritize Framerate and Prioritize Graphics. On PS4 Pro, Prioritize Framerate would get closer to 60fps than the other modes, but would dip in frames just like the others. Prioritize Graphics has better draw distance, level of detail, and shadows, but the framerate would be around 30 to 40fps.
The resolution for both Prioritize Framerate and Prioritize Graphics is 1080p. Prioritize Resolution gives you the highest resolution, setting the resolution at 1800p with checkerboard rendering. This is my favorite graphics mode, since the image quality is much cleaner than the other two. This mode looks great on both a 4K display and a 1080p display.
This recording is in 4K and 60fps. Gameplay captured from a PS5 using an Elgato 4K60 Pro.
