Mortal Kombat 1 - Mega Drive / Genesis - Censored Fatalities vs Blood Code Versions
Mortal Kombat was controversial because of the violence during the game, mainly because of the final move at the end of the fights that earned the name of FATALITY.
However, the game received censorship in versions for home consoles, but in the Genesis/Mega Drive version, it is possible to disable censorship through a secret code. Here in this video you can see the difference between the censored Fatalities and their uncensored versions.
GAME INFO:
Mortal Kombat is an arcade fighting game developed and published by Midway in 1992. It is the first entry in the Mortal Kombat series and subsequently was released by Acclaim Entertainment for nearly every home platform of the time.
GAME RECORDING INFO:
The game was emulated at Retroarch, using MAME core. It was integer scaled to 4k, without bi-linear filtering, and retaining the original aspect ratio (display aspect ratio, not internal resolution). And captured using shader / filter that simulates the image of a CRT monitor screen. I also use a bezel above the game, with a image of arcade machines, to create a nostalgic atmosphere.
