Home consoles of the 16-bit generation were having a huge success in the 90s, and the fight was strong between Super Nintendo x Genesis (or Super Famicom and Mega Drive). Both consoles received a version of Mortal Kombat, SNES has better graphics, but the gameplay and controller response in the Genesis version is much better. And unlike its competitor, there is a cheat code to release the censorship, a fact that it was known at the time and made this port sell much more.
GAME INFO:
Mortal Kombat is an arcade fighting game developed and published by Midway in 1992. It is the first entry in the Mortal Kombat series and subsequently was released by Acclaim Entertainment for nearly every home platform of the time.
GAME RECORDING INFO:
The game was emulated at Retroarch, using MAME core. It was integer scaled to 4k, without bi-linear filtering, and retaining the original aspect ratio (display aspect ratio, not internal resolution). And captured using shader / filter that simulates the image of a CRT monitor screen. I also use a bezel above the game, with a image of arcade machines, to create a nostalgic atmosphere.
