Released just a few days ago, this version aims to bring the Gen version equal to or past the Sega CD port. I turned this into a longplay because of specific footage gathering I was aiming for, so if I seem like I'm beating it to easily or giving up to change characters, getting footage is why.

Playing it, I can tell you that it's worlds better than the original Genesis version and gives it sort of a "best of all worlds" when it comes to console ports of the game. Nothing on those generation of consoles will directly match the arcade version, but each had something to offer. The SNES had better colors and graphics, plus a more mature sound and vocal effects. The Genesis had the gameplay, authentic synth sound, and of course, blood. The Sega CD version felt like what the Gen version could have been, but it was plagued by loading issues.

The Arcade Edition, now that I've played it, truly does feel like the definitive version. I'll probably describe it more in a later video, but the changes are numerous. Also, some of the updates can be very subtle if you are just picking it up and playing it without context. One change, for example, is the resizing of everything. The sprites on the arcade version were big and very central to the fighting, but the Genesis version shrunk the fighters down....but kept their feet in the same spot. This version fixes that by shifting the battle field up to make the fighters more central on the screen.
