NOOB SAIBOT PLAYTHROUGH

In Mortal Kombat II, Noob Saibot is one of the three unplayable secret characters. He doesn’t have any storyline and can be only fought under specific conditions. Unlike his two other counterparts, there is no clue about its existence in the game, though he is easily available when accessing the secret cheat option of the game. Because of this, he is the most obscure of the three characters.

The Super NES and Sega Genesis version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 are the game where he was directly part of the storyline.

To fight Noob Saibot, a player has to win 50 times in a row in a versus game. Noob Saibot will challenge the player into Goro’s Lair. He can also easily be fought by doing the following button combination on the character selection screen: Left, Up, Down, Down, Right, Select then choose a character after the sound cues play.

In the Super NES port of Mortal Kombat II, the secret's character is unplayable. However, it is possible to play as them with a hex editor or a cheating device. Unfortunately, they are very prone to crash by doing most action beside high punch and walking. On March 2009, an unofficial patch was created to allow the secret characters to be playable without crashes.
Included in the patch are cheat code to play as them without cheating devices.

Left, Left, Left, Left, Left, Select will cause a sound to play. Choosing Liu Kang will allow the player to play as Noob Saibot.

Noob Saibot walks faster and has more health than the regular character. This patch gives him the entire moveset of Sub-Zero, including the fatalities and his fighting stance. When fighting him in Goro’s Lair, he is harder to see dues to the pitch-dark cavern in the background.

To be as faithful as how the CPU controls him, none of Sub-Zero’s special moves are used and no fatalities are performed since he doesn’t have any input to perform these in the original game. It is not possible to perform his spear move, only the CPU can.

Noob Saibot’s speed allows him to get closer to the opponent than a normal character. With this in mind, he can quickly setup jump kicks or sweep against his opponent.

Noob Saibot’s ending default to Kung Lao’s to prevent crashing. This is a result of the patch since the game freezes on the original game.

As a side note, this patch causes all secret character’s fight to happen in the portal stage instead of Goro’s Lair.
