The latest update for Mortal Shell on Xbox Series S introduces two modes: cinematic mode and performance mode.

Xbox Series S in performance mode uses a dynamic resolution with the highest native resolution found being 1920x1080 and the lowest resolution found being approximately 1344x756. Pixel counts at 1344x756 seem to be uncommon in performance mode. Xbox Series S in performance mode uses temporal upsampling to reconstruct a 1920x1080 resolution when rendering natively below this resolution.

Xbox Series S in cinematic mode uses a dynamic resolution with the highest native resolution found being 3200x1800 and the lowest resolution found being approximately 2240x1260. Pixel counts at 2240x1260 seem to be uncommon in cinematic mode. Xbox Series S in cinematic mode uses temporal upsampling to reconstruct a 3200x1800 resolution when rendering natively below this resolution.

The UI is rendered at 3840x2160 in both modes.

Note that the lowest resolution found here wasn't in the same scene tested on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, so comparisons between cinematic mode on Xbox Series S and PS4 Pro/Xbox One X won't be like-for-like.

The texture streaming issues that the Xbox Series S previously had have been improved.
