In this video I demonstrated how to disassemble Acer 5755G 9417 laptop and replace its motherboard.

Why I am posting this video:
To encourage people like myself who want to replace motherboard of their computer but they are hesitant to open it.

Why I replaced motherboard:
Motherboard of this computer stopped working somehow. I sent it to a local computer repair shop who diagnosed that its motherboard has failed and should be replaced. Their cost of diagnosis was $50 and they asked for additional $250 to replace motherboard. To me, it made no financial sense to spend so much on a 3 year old computer. So, I decided to bring computer home and REPAIR IT MYSELF.

How I did it:
I consulted repair and maintenance manual of my computer and found that motherboard MB.RAZ02.004 LA-6901P is compatible with it. I confirmed this model number from internet and ordered a used motherboard from Ebay for $80. I also ordered Metal Oxide thermal Cpu Paste Compound Tube (http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00006B8DX?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00) and an anti-static wrist strap (http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0042TLA90?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00). I already had prying tools and required screwdrivers in my toolbox.

My Skill level:
I am not professional but I like to repair my stuff. I have replaced motherboards of some desktop computers, however, this is the first time I opened a laptop computer to replace a major part.

Time Required:
Actual time I took to replace this motherboard was between 70 to 90 minutes

Result:
It worked!!! I am more happy because I learned to assemble and disassemble a laptop computer, than because my computer resumed working as good as it was working before.

Any difference in computer performance:
No. The only change I observed is that the BIOS screen of previous motherboard was different from this, but who cares if it is working.
