Movement Tech VS Accessibility in FPS Games...
Even though Apex Legends has helped surge the Titanfall 2 2019 population numbers, it seems that after just a few short weeks those numbers have leveled back out to close to what they were prior to the release of Apex Legends. What factors caused this new influx of players to for the most part not stick around? I want to break down the benefits of movement based FPS games or more specifically, FPS games that have a high skill ceiling in regards to their movement tech. Does that movement come at a cost and that being accessibility for the new player? How should a developer balance appeasing dedicated fans and players while still trying to appeal to a new demographic and invite new players into a franchise?
