John Romero and company might have left Softdisk and formed iD, but their game series stayed behind and brand new talent was involved into bringing Dangerous Dave into yet another installment in 1993, two years after the last game had been made.

While every game of the series were completely different affairs, this game takes the formula of Dangerous Dave in the Haunted Mansion and... doesn't really add much to the formula at all. It somehow plays much worse, with the shotgun aiming not being as versatile as it used to be and the addition of mechanics everyone could have dealt without, such as fall damage and a limited ammo counter.

This is one of those games that drove me in a personal vendetta against it and where I try to finish it no matter what happens. Will I succeed or will the game ultimately break me?
