Welcome to this early Atari race simulator port. On its arcade counterpart, this was amongst the first 3D racing games ever made and the PC port actually does ok in keeping most of the looks of the arcade game. However, controls are a completely different story, with the most out there keyboard mappings and overly sensitive mouse steering. And finally, the coup de grace comes from the very sensitive car physics where your car will explode on a dime, the decision to have backward traffic on a closed race track (seriously though, don't have loops have cars going both ways!) and of course, the fact that the game only has 1 track.

Thankfully, the sequel fixes this problem by having a track editor and ships with multiple tracks to play. The tiny little problem of the sequel is that EVERYTHING ELSE IS THE SAME OH MY GOD HOW COULD THEY HAVE DONE THIS WHY IN THE WORLD DID THIS COME OUT 2 YEARS LATER AND YET HAVE NOTHING DIFFERENT.
