MS-DOS Crypt - ZZT
21Before Epic MegaGames was a thing, there was a little company called Potomac Computer Systems. And ZZT was their first release. It would change everything as we know it and make way for Epic Megagames.
ZZT is an ASCII adventure puzzle game where you play the role of a smiley face, shooting all sorts of other enemies and solving puzzles that block your way. But in addition of being a game, it also doubled as a game creation tool, as the game featured its own scripting language that could be used to take the game to new places. It was amongst the first games to feature an active modding community, as people would gather to share their own worlds and games made through it.
In this video, I scratch the surface of what ZZT is, as a newcomer to the series who never had any exposure to the game at all, giving a shot to all of the 4 "games" that were bundled in ZZT's retail version.
