Alchemy, MtG Arena's newest format, is not exactly my favorite development for the game. Frankly, I think that it's a pretty bad idea, as it not only adds digital-only cards to something akin to Standard, but it also pollutes the eternal formats like Historic and Brawl, the ones that actually keep me coming back. Since I don't play with digital-only cards as a matter of principle (so as not to encourage them to make more), it puts me at a disadvantage. I admit that it is making it harder to stick with Magic Arena, but it is a way to play Magic: the Gathering for free, the one part that keeps me coming back. I'm more and more inclined to say that Magic Online is just a better way to play MtG , though.
