Alt title: What the Hellion

Killer7 is a unique game for its blending of the action-adventure and on-rails shooter genres, and this version of its sharp-dressed Hellion, Deadly Dan the Man, reflects the source material in its unique control scheme.

Because he cannot crouch or jump, and instead uses the inputs for these actions to ready his HANDSOME DEVIL revolver and reload, respectively, his only evasive maneuvers are a spot-dodge (backdash input) and a teleport that puts him on the other side of his opponent (forward dash). He has no taunt, and as far as I can tell, he only has one color; a missed opportunity, given he changes shirts in most of Killer7's scenarios.

I missed a few of his intro animations in the video, so I'll list the ones I know here: one with Susie in the laundry dryer, one with Iwazaru, one with Travis Bell, one where he takes a junction to the battlefield. For his victory animations, I believe he only has the two.

BASIC MOVESET:
A (Light Kick): Shoot (must be holding down to ready the gun, must reload after six shots)
B (Medium Kick): Counter (replaces blocking; use while aiming for a different counter)
C (Heavy Kick): Consume blood (More on this later)
X (Light Punch): Shoot (also used for Heaven Smile attacks: more on this later)
Y (Medium Punch): TripleTap (requires 1 meter; more on this later)
Z (Heavy Punch): Critical Lock-On (requires 2 meters: more on this later)

HEAVEN SMILES (inputs use numpad notation, where 2 is down, 3 is down-forward, etc):
236X: Mithril Smile (slowly shambles forward and explodes)
623X: Micro Smile (flies forward and explodes, stunning the enemy)
214X: Laser Smile (Fires a laser after a short delay)
421X: Diver Smile (falls on the opponent and explodes)

SOUL SHELLS AND RAVE ON:

After collecting enough Soul Shells, which appear when the enemy is shot enough times (I dunno what governs the shot requirements) and are signaled by the presence of the ghostly gimp Kikazaru, a snippet of Killer7's Gateman cutscene plays, and the stage becomes the Vinculum Gate. The music changes to Rave On, the Vinculum Gate stairway music, and three of the four Heaven Smile attacks are upgraded. Ironically, only one of these Smiles is an actual Vinculum Gate Smile, and that's the GTS.

RAVE SMILES:
236X: Poison Smile (emits stunning gas, then explodes)
623X: Broken Smile (flies forward and explodes)
214X: Galactic Tomahawk Smile (covers part of the screen in explosions; easily Dan's most overpowered move, as GTS can be duplicated in quick enough succession to lock the opponent in hitstun until KO)
421X: Diver Smile (No changes, at least as far as I can tell)

BLOOD:

As Dan shoots the opponent, he can acquire up to three vials of thin blood, which are consumed using the HK button. One vial of blood is used for healing (can be done without meter), but all three must be full to use his Level 3 Super.

SUPERS:
Lvl1: TripleTap
Pressing MP while aiming causes Dan to shoot three times in rapid succession. Funnily enough, this only costs one bullet.
Lvl2: Critical Lock-On
Pressing HP while aiming makes Dan shoot his opponent in their "vital organ" (weak spot), which stuns them for a moment. Like with all Dan's other shots, this can make a Soul Shell drop.
Lvl3: COLLATERAL SHOT
With full meter and all three vials filled with thin blood, Dan can unleash his most devastating attack: a screen-filling charged bullet typically used to destroy the red weak spots of Duplicator Smiles and Mother Smiles.

PLAYSTYLE:
Due to his limited mobility and reliance on shooting and countering, a Dan player's primary objective should be filling the blood vials and gathering Soul Shells, using Heaven Smiles and the odd Crit Lock-On to keep the opponent at bay until Rave On kicks in. Collateral Shot is certainly Dan's most damaging move as far as single hits go, but Soul Shells are more important because of how absolutely broken Galactic Tomahawk Smile is (and to think, the actual Broken Smiles are so much worse to deal with in Killer7).

As the Hellion's opponent, you want to do everything in your power to stop this considerable badass from getting his hands on the Soul Shells. Projectile-based characters are ideal for this.
