I have replaced the internal 64K ROM of a NMS8245 with a 512K AM29F040B flashROM. Using two jumpers that control A18 and A16 address lines, I can configure four different BIOS, EXTBIOS and DiskROMs.
In this video you can see how the same game, Vampire Killer, runs in different ways:
1- International BIOS at 50Hz: Vampire Killer logo and slow music
2- Japanese BIOS at 50Hz: Akumajo Dracula logo and slow music
3- Japanese BIOS at 60Hz: Akumajo Dracula logo and normal music

There are more games that check the region of the computer and show a different ending, change the texts to English or japanese, etc.
Using a japanese configuration it is possible to avoid the japanese Metal Gear regional lockout and play the game on an european MSX2.
