I did this on the Switch port the day prior but the replay broke so I decided to give it a run on the 360 port instead. The Switch port is great and otherwise a direct version of this port, I just hope broken replays are something LiveWire can fix since I remember it being an issue for the PC port at one point too. The only issue I experience with the 360 port is some intermittent audio crackle/pop at some points, which isn't present on PC/Switch and it's also worth noting the BGM has some slightly different instrumentation in the 360 port too.

Mushihimesama’s Original mode features less bullet density than its Maniac mode counterpart, however the bullet speed is also much faster. If you’ve had some experience and enjoyed Psikyo shmups, Dangun Feveron or Raiden, you’ll probably have a good time playing Original mode but if you’re used to slower and denser bullet hell games, Maniac might be better suited for you. As a result, Original and Maniac end up at about the same difficulty but which one you find harder is gonna depend on your skillset. There’s an Ultra mode too but that’s another kettle of fish and blows the other two out of the water in terms of difficulty.

The port (also available on PC and Switch) also features a Novice mode, Arrange mode and 1.5 “Matsuri” Mode. Novice is largely a stripped down and easier version of the regular mode, while Arrange and 1.5 remix the gameplay and each feature their own soundtracks.

Scoring in Original mode is pretty brainless, in that the main objective is just “don’t die” to the point where your extends will make up about 80% of your total score. Your only other means of getting points come from killing enemies, collecting gems and hitting targets for as long as possible. There are some other areas you can get more points, but I mention that in the commentary.

Between the PS2, 360, PC, Switch ports and just straight up emulating the original arcade version via MAME, this has probably been CAVE's most accessible shmup to date too. The bevy of modes and options available on the ports make it an absolute steal nowadays and you're doing yourself a disservice not checking it out if you like shmups.
