The foundation of Tim Proctor’s artwork is anchored firmly in traditional illustration, where he pairs classic approaches with time-tested media to produce completely original designs. His innovative strength lies in expanding the definition of illustration to incorporate other fields of art, thus blurring the boundaries between disciplines with unique creative vision. Holding a BFA in Illustration from Memphis College of Art, he is self employed and has been creating professional artwork for decades.
Tim’s artistry is internationally recognized and his graphic illustrations have been featured by companies such as Topps, Cryptozoic Entertainment, IIDW Limited, and Upper Deck. He has also produced limited edition lithographs for Disney and Lucasfilm via Acme Archives. Selections from his portfolio can be found in numerous private collections throughout the world and he consistently exhibits through the comic convention circuit. His artistic contributions to mainstream pop culture extend into the realm of broadcast media, having portrayed numerous types of Walkers on AMC’s prolific television horror series “The Walking Dead” for five consecutive seasons.
His studio practice reflects a continual exploration of content, experimentation with materials, and subject matter which offers insight into who he is as an artist and a person. His illustrations now transcend the two dimensional surface, transforming into sculptural fine art by implementing New Media techniques. His highly detailed dioramas are meticulously hand painted and compositionally utilize ArtResin with internal LED light sources.
Tim’s current projects pay homage to the nostalgic thrill of pinball machines in the modern era by leveling up his signature dioramas in scale and dramatic effect. With the creation of limited edition pinball toppers and shooter rods, his concepts expand even further. Available exclusively by custom commission only, these remarkable pieces reflect his enthusiastic love of pinball and show his heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the pinball community.
