Guilty Gear Strive[a] (stylized as Guilty Gear -STRIVE-) is an upcoming fighting video game developed and published by Arc System Works. It is the seventh mainline installment of the Guilty Gear series (eighth if counting Xrd REV 2), and the 24th overall. The game is scheduled for a worldwide release on June 11, 2021. Intended as a "complete reconstruction of the franchise", Guilty Gear -STRIVE- retains but revamps many features of the series. In this video Dreamcastguy reviews Guilty Gear Strive played on a PS5 but it is also on PlayStation 4, the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and other consoles. This is a typical review style format video with talking over gameplay and showing some great combos, mission mode, and talking about online matches during the beta. It introduces the "Wall Break" feature, which allows for stage transitions when a combo is initiated in the corner of the arena. The game will feature fifteen playable characters on launch. Sol Badguy, Ky Kiske, May, Axl Low, Chipp Zanuff, Potemkin, Faust, Millia Rage, Zato-1, Ramlethal Valentine, Leo Whitefang, Anji Mito and I-No return from previous installments, while two new characters make their debut: these are Nagoriyuki, a samurai-like vampire character who can drain opponents of their blood to increase his attack power, and Giovanna, a special operations unit officer who is accompanied by her wolf spirit, Rei. More characters will be released as downloadable content, with 5 announced for Season Pass 1.
