My improved D&D audio setup — stereo audio to Discord
You've heard of Dungeon Master, now there's also Audio Master. Short summary + links to software below. (And by the way, sorry for leaving the audio feed on too loud in the second half of the video😛!)
Winamp (for music) + 5 instances of MPC-HC for soundscapes & sound effects, playing straight from network shares that are mounted as network drives (so that "Everything" can index them). These sources play into the VoiceMeeter Aux Input device.
VoiceMeeter Banana then pipes all that audio through ASIO to Cantabile 3 Lite, which is used as a VST Host so that a multiband compressor can be used. The signal is internally routed inside Cantabile in the most straightforward way possible, Input ➡ VST plugin ➡ Output, and the signal goes back to VoiceMeeter Banana.
VoiceMeeter is set up to then output that onto the "VB Input" device, which gets automatically routed through to the "VB Output" devices, which is what DAP (Discord Audio Pipe) program.
I can't remember if VB Input / VB Output is part of VoiceMeeter Banana or just the basic VB-Audio cable. If it's the latter, I installed the cable first, then VM Banana. They're not incompatible or anything like that.
Players can then adjust the volume down to their liking (usually to 60%-ish, which is not what I left the bot at in the second half of the video, lol!)
