With no travel for me in my job during lockdown I decided to put my mind to work creating a trilogy of videos documenting my journey through the golden age of video games.

This series of videos is mostly made up of news articles, coming soon features and reviews from magazines such as Computer and Video Games (CVG) and also from memories or moments in my life as I grew up with video games.

The golden age of video games is often something that is debated…………. When was the golden age exactly…………………..And what games are from that era.

I crafted my memories and experience of what my golden age of video games was like in an effort to show just how far video games have progressed in such a short space of time, from the humble beginnings of the 8-bit home computers like the Commodore 64 and Spectrum to the latest consoles such as the PS5.

So grab your passport to the past and join me as I recollect some random access memories of my journey through the Golden Age of Video Games.

PART 2 The 16-Bit Years
The 16-bit era was all about the Sega MegaDrive and Super Nintendo, and how their dominance shaped the console landscape during the early 90`s.

The rivalry that existed between the two companies was echoed in school grounds up and down the land and also by the execs of those two companies.

The 90`s also witnessed the rise of PC gaming and the so called video nasty. The 90`s also seen the death and resurrection of the arcade scene and how one game saved an entire industry.
