My Journey Through The Golden Age Of Video Games Part 1
With no travel for me in my job during lockdown I decided to put my mind to work creating a trilogy of videos documenting my journey through the golden age of video games.
This series of videos is mostly made up of news articles, coming soon features and reviews from magazines such as Computer and Video Games (CVG) and also from memories or moments in my life as I grew up with video games.
The golden age of video games is often something that is debated…………. When was the golden age exactly…………………..And what games are from that era.
I crafted my memories and experience of what my golden age of video games was like in an effort to show just how far video games have progressed in such a short space of time, from the humble beginnings of the 8-bit home computers like the Commodore 64 and Spectrum to the latest consoles such as the PS5.
So grab your passport to the past and join me as I recollect some random access memories of my journey through the Golden Age of Video Games.
PART 1 The Commodore 64 Years
In the beginning for me there was the Commodore 64, and this system was my entry point into the world of video games. This video charts the progress of video games till the end of the decade and shows how big the video games craze became along the way.
See the rise of the C64, and the birth of the 16-bit home computers. Witness the rise and fall and rise again of the 8-bit home consoles all in the space of a few years.
