The kids were behaving quietly for once, it figures if I tried something I'd awaken the beast ;)
I have not seen any videos or articles on this game (probably because it was released in Japan only and after Gainax stopped distributing it the only way to get it was from Otakuworld (which became paywalled until late 2014!).

The game and self extracting archive are both 16-bit. There is a trick to opening the archive if you use a 64-bit machine. Open it with 7zip, winzip or winrar instead of trying to run the executable. You'll need to run it in an emulator of sorts if your OS is 64-bit. So Virtual PC with Windows XP, DOSBOX with Windows installed, Virtualbox with Windows XP, etc.
The Game of Angels is a Turn-Based strategy game where you control either Nerv or the Angels. Different units have different stats and sometimes a unit can survive a hit that would normally wipe them out utterly.
NERV gets more units more often, with UN Fighter and Bomber planes as well as the robot Jet Alone complementing the very strong Eva units.
The Angels get fewer overall units, they mostly tend to have less HP and less variety of attacks per unit than Eva units or Jet Alone but they also tend to hit hard. They also have 2 Angels that are able to possess enemy units, supplementing their ranks.
