This video is a tutorial for My Time at Portia showing you how to upgrade your simple axe into a bronze axe. Very early on, you'll be faced with a main quest which requires you to make a bridge. Well, to make this bridge, you're going to have to gather hardwood. You can gather hardwood by chopping down medium trees. But here's a problem - you need to upgrade your axe to do so.

You can upgrade your axe at the worktable. I'm assuming you'll already have a simple axe at this point. You'll need 3 bronze bars, which can be made using your furnace. Gather copper and tin ores, then smelt them. You can purchase an upgrade kit from the Total Tools shop in the town. It may be quite expensive at the start of the game, so just be aware.
