My Top Six Town Theme RPG Songs
3This is a list of my top six town themes in RPGs. Why six? Because I can never seem to settle on a top five.
This list is more than just the music itself, although the music itself plays a big role in the spot. It also matters on if it matches the town's atmosphere, style, setting, etc. If the song not only sounds good but makes you FEEL as if you're actually in the town, that's a huge plus.
Do not read past here if you want to watch the video first and find out which songs are where before reading the reason for my choices.
#6. Lufia: FoD: Theme of Port - This is a song played during any Town that has a port in the game and really lets you get into the feel of the town. Not only that, but it has a kick-ass beat.
#5. Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure: A Little Love - Never played or even heard of this RPG? I wouldn't blame you. The game isn't that challenging. However, what makes this game great is the music and the atmosphere/ scenery of the game. Not to mention the innocent story and characters. As for the song? It matches the atmosphere and theme of the game itself. It's just beautiful.
#4. Lunar: The Silver Star: Town of Meribia - This song was number one of my list for so long. It had a great sound and melody and really made you believe you were in Meribia. It had that Majestic, big city sound to it. Unfortunately, it's dropped to four and I'm slowly thinking of dropping it to five sometime behind A Little Love from Rhapsody. Maybe not soon, but sometime.
#3 Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana: Town Where the Bells Chime - Anotherr song that sounds great and really adds to the atmosphere of it all.
#2 Kingdom Hearts 2: The Afternoon Streets - In terms of pure music value, this one is the best town theme I've ever heard. It's just that good. However, it's only number 2 because number 1 matches the atmosphere and feeling of the town so well.
#1 Final Fantasy IX: City That Never Sleeps - While The Afternoon Streets from KH2 sounds a bit better, this song matches the theme, setting and atmosphere of the town so well, the best of any other song I've heard. This song IS Treno. It makes Treno what it is. You believe you are in Treno listening to this. That's why this song is number 1.
