Samuel Lai has been plagued with thoughts of self-loathing ever since he agreed to work for Odell. Samuel only worked for Odell for the money, but as Odell's actions grew increasingly monstrous, Samuel decided it wasn't worth the money. Now he is forever haunted by his actions, believing that he can only be forgiven if Odell is brought to justice. As a child, Samuel and his parents lived in the dangerous, missionary-infested wasteland known only as Mesa, Arizona. When he turned 25, he and his parents successfully drove the missionaries back to their homeland of Utah. Deciding to see the world, Samuel went on an expedition to the Arctic circle where he met Odell. They exchanged stories, and after hearing Samuel's story, Odell offered employment to Samuel for fat stacks of cash. Samuel accepted, and planned to defect from Odell's army once he accumulated $10 million. When the massacres started, and when he found out that Odell's atrocities were fueled by a personal vendetta against Colonel Odessa Cubbage, Samuel thought twice about working for Odell and moved back to Arizona to help his parents keep Mesa's missionary population under control, with a measly $500,000. Samuel's mother and father have not discovered what he had done in the Arctic Territories... Yet.
