Important notes:
1) Never skip optional practice in your career calendar, they are your bread and butter to maximizing your character attributes.
2) If you are in a hurry, you can simply use Box Jump (or any other Gym equipment) to fail repeatedly until the meter is charged.

Doing work is an activity which results in attribute upgrades for your player character.
Every time you visit the training hall, you will be able to charge up a blue meter, upon leaving the blue will transfer over to the yellow meter.

Finally, charging up the yellow meter will result in you being awarded a Attribute Upgrade point. Which you can use to further maximize your attributes.
