In this longplay, I play the first half of the game mostly normally. Eventually I feel like my fun was being hampered by grinding and some bosses that were a little tough, so I decide to hack the game's RAM to unlock all weapons/armors/spells including the spells and equipment of the other playable characters. Then I run around finishing the game while being kind of silly, but intentionally not sequence breaking with movement abilities.

I had wanted to do a mage run as Charlotte to make it play different, but it becomes clear that the designers don't really intend you to do that. Since Jonathan can kill enemies in less hits, take less damage, and still can access Charlotte's spells, playing as Charlotte seems to really be a major handicap outside of bosses with specific magic weaknesses.

The game is extremely linear, with very few opportunities for free exploration outside of backtracking near the end of the game after obtaining the owl (and midway, with the frog, though if you're going to backtrack later anyway, you might as well just go forward).
