Throughout the game, you may or may not be chased by police depending on your behavior outside of missions. This is represented by the bar on the left side of your screen, which increases as your car is used recklessly. Each level implies a higher wanted level and amount of pursuit. The only way to reset this level is to simply repaint the car. However, I've reached the point where I say... "meh." I managed to bait the police for about 17 minutes, covering approximately 30 miles of road, in the process attracting over 100 police vehicles, and taking out over 60 of them.
