Ohh 7-Up shovelware, got the Nintendo Seal of Quality so quickly. Technically, it is a sound game. There are no real bugs, the game play is fine and responsive, and with humans becomes a good strategy game. Playing against the NES is quite dull though. Not really much to show in the way of gameplay as the NES AI isn't great and this solution was one I developed years ago - I'm sure there are even faster ones today.

The game was simply a way for 7-Up's marketing to seem relevant and harkens to the trash which sunk the Atari. They were able to show off the logo well, gave it some fun animations to appeal to people but the strategy style eludes me; maybe they were trying to be safe and professional. maybe they would get families playing together, it would be interesting to know those conversations. Personally, I think a simple platformer would have done the trick, but maybe that would be something very easy to beat and then tossed to the side to be forgotten, where parents may try to interact with their children a bit more with this or help them develop through teaching.

Well, we know where shovelware goes. Sadly I'm not sure how low I can throw this but I'm not sure if there are more than 100 worse games on the NES, so I'm going to drop this at 600 and below for a ranking. Well designed, but simple and forgettable unless you have tournaments.
