Decent game, good for Star Trek. Lots of random mission which end up repetitive after a time. Seems like the game takes a chart with missions: get ambassador or product, asteroid going to crash into, firestorm to engulf, (species) attacking outpost or ship, etc, matches it to a planet, and sends you on your way. In the end the planets don't matter, just artificial variety, and the game consists of completing one of the 12 or so different types of missions.

Has good graphics and sound, however there were severe simulation issues. Enemy ships didn't seem to have species strengths or weaknesses, or at very discernable ones, there was a hint of Ferrengi ships are slow, have great maneuverability and hid behind you, vs Klingon and Romulan ships which sped away and made passes but had better defense. I can't be sure though.

Handling all the duties by yourself in real time is challenging. As demonstrated, I didn't even care on the later missions if I passed or failed because it seemed broken. If it is going to be a TNG simulation, then there should be an option to pause and give orders instead of just flying in a straight line. For example, in battle you pause the game, tell Worf to keep the shields up, tell Geordi to repair the system, and O'Brien to transport aliens off. Now as a gamer, you can do the tasks, but the battle should be stopped as you cannot all these things at the same time, where there is a distribution of responsibilities in the show.

My last gripe was there wasn't, or I couldn't find a "tactical" where you could see how damaged the enemy ships were and what there shields were at much less if they were down. It would have been great if the game had the ships flash or change color.
