1Correction the Developer was FarSight Studios. This is an absolute trash game, no getting around it. I'd let it slide that it was made for 3-6 year olds, however the controls as you saw are not intuitive. In my opinion, select should have switched between the picture and palette and simply removed the B function all together or used it as an undo. A much needed improvement was also naming the dinosaurs - T Rex, triceratops, stegosaurus, etc. At least kids would have associated the names then. The choice of colors should have been expanded as well. The NES could display 8 colors and those could have been mixed up a bit with some clever programming.
At the end of the day though, it is a family friendly game for young children and allowed them to use their imagination. They would not get frustrated and I'm sure it brought some smiles to their faces and that's what's important.
