Many people probably already know this, but Sunsoft once owned the rights to the 'Terminator' movie license and this game was originally intended to make use of the license. It's made apparent by certain enemy types (namely the final boss) and pieces of music that Sunsoft had been making progress with the original 'Terminator' concept. Sometime during development, though, they lost the rights and had to re-edit the game into what we have now. When you look at the abysmal NES Terminator game we DID get, one can't help but wonder what could've been had Sunsoft been able to retain the license.

But no matter...Journey to Silius is a very engaging and challenging run and gun game, and features some of the best music I've heard on the NES. You start off with a simple hand gun (which has unlimited ammo) and gradually build an arsenal of more powerful guns the further you progress in the game. Since your other guns are limited in ammunition, it's best to save them for the boss battles. You find occasional health and ammo pickups upon killing enemies and you'll be needing LOTS of both. Thankfully, Stage 4 was generous with health pickups. The final stage is unforgiving. There are no enemies, but as soon as you start, the screen will begin scrolling to the right and you have to keep up with it, all the while making your way over and through all the obstacles and pits to the end. This stage also requires precise timing in a few areas or you're dead. Make it as perfect as you can because there are no health pickups here and you have two final bosses to fight at the end. Good luck! ;) -
