NES - Tetris 2 - 1P Mode Speedrun (30 Rounds) - 33:07
1A speedrun of the 1P mode in the NES version of Tetris 2, aiming to complete the first 30 rounds as fast as possible.
If you ever wondered what a puzzle game would look like if you took 2 other classic puzzle games in Tetris and Dr. Mario and fused them together? You would get this game known as Tetris 2 (or Tetris Flash in Japan). This game plays very similarly to Dr. Mario, but with Tetris pieces instead of pills. Another difference is that this is a match 3 puzzle game, whereas Dr. Mario is a match 4 puzzle game. In 1P mode, there are a total of 80 rounds, and the goal for each round is to clear all of the fixed blocks on the screen. The best way to do this is by clearing the 3 flashing blocks at the very bottom of the field, which when done so will clear all other fixed blocks of the same color from the screen. At the end of the round, if you clear all of the fixed blocks in few enough pieces, you may get bonus points added to your score.
Round 30 is the highest round that you can select from the menu after selecting the "1 Player" option from the main menu. Also I decided to play on low speed this time as the starting arrangements of fixed blocks at the beginning of the later rounds start pretty close to the top of the screen. Hoping to give more of this game a try and maybe complete the full 80 Rounds run in the future. Enjoy!
