Nissan has just unveiled the highly anticipated new Nissan GT-R at the Tokyo Auto Show. The new GT-R, which is set to hit the market in the spring of 2024, boasts a sleek and modern design with improved aerodynamics and a refined ride quality.

One of the most notable changes to the new GT-R is the redesigned front and rear fascias. The front bumper has been revised with a thinned upper grille and fang-like end pieces, while the lower grille has been given a boxy air opening and hexagon-shaped daytime running lights. The rear has also undergone some changes, such as the trim around the quad-exhaust exits, to bring the GT-R in line with modern times.

Under the hood, the new GT-R is powered by the same hand-built 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine as the previous model, producing 565 horsepower and 467 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and Nissan's ATTESA ET-S all-wheel-drive system.

The new GT-R also features an improved suspension system with Bilstein DampTronic adjustable shocks, as well as Brembo brakes and RAYS 20-inch wheels. The aerodynamics have been improved to increase downforce while maintaining a drag coefficient of 0.26 Cd, the same as the previous model.

In addition to the standard GT-R, Nissan is also offering a track-ready GT-R Nismo. The Nismo features its own updated bodywork with a 10-percent larger carbon wing, a new splitter, a new diffuser, and canards, as well as wider tires, carbon-ceramic rotors, a carbon roof, turbochargers from Nissan's GT3 race car, and for the first time, a limited-slip differential for the front axle. Output is unchanged at 600 horsepower and 481 lb-ft of torque.

The GT-R T-spec, which gets the base engine but the carbon-ceramic brakes, widened front fenders, and stability control calibration from the Nismo, will also be available. The T-spec edition is inspired by the words trend and traction and is created to always be ahead of the times and drive with robust grip.

The new Nissan GT-R is set to arrive at select dealerships in the spring of 2024. Pricing for the new GT-R and its variants has yet to be announced.
