New 3DS Merki TV-Kit with AVerMedia Capture Card
Back with another showcase, this time looking at the Merki-TV Kit for Katsukity New 3DS and New 2DS model capture cards. To get this to work you need a New model 3DS or New 2DS model device with a Katsukity Capture device. Without one of those the TV-Kit is useless. Another thing that is necessary is to know that the 3DS audio can not be captured over HDMI without audio desyncs, so it is recommended to run the 3DS audio into the external capture card through a line-in port on it. The Merki-TV Kit also comes with an Analog Port on the device, but with my version the Analog audio option was omitted for some reason, hence why I worked around it by running my 3DS Audio through a mixer and used Streamlabs OBS. While you can connect the Katsukity cards directly to a PC, if you experience problems with the card dropping frames while connected then this is a decent alternative. You are limited to screen positioning unfortunately. Overall, it's a decent product once you get it working, but with the ever-growing niche market of the 3DS capture cards it's usability and availability vary greatly.
