Introducing the brand new AC Cobra GT Roadster
Embarking on an entirely fresh design, the AC Cobra GT Roadster represents a cutting-edge, modern sports car that incorporates the latest technology and engineering processes, all while remaining true to the spirit of the original AC Cobra from the 1960s.
This new roadster materialized through a substantial multi-million Euro investment spanning nearly four years. Designed to be both aesthetically pleasing and practical as a sports car, it occupies a class of its own. With only 250 units of the GT Roadster expected to be produced annually for global markets, the first year's production has already been allocated.
Meticulous attention has been paid to ensure the GT Roadster is fully compliant with road regulations, available in both left and right-hand driving configurations, and equipped with modern safety features. Every aspect, from the exterior styling to the ergonomics, has been thoughtfully considered.
Significantly larger than its predecessor, the original AC Cobra, the new GT Roadster embraces 50 years of design evolution. Its contemporary ergonomics accommodate drivers well over six feet tall, while modern drivetrain and control technologies solidify its status as a grand tourer.
Featuring a wheelbase of 2570mm, an increase of 284mm compared to the AC Cobra Mk. VI, the new chassis ensures improved handling and agility while maintaining an overall length of merely 110mm more, measuring 4225mm. The car's track has also been optimized to provide a wider stance, further enhancing its handling capabilities and center of gravity.
With an exceptionally lightweight and remarkably torsionally rigid extruded aluminum spaceframe chassis, specifically designed for an open-top car, and adorned with a flowing carbon-composite body weighing under 50kg, the new AC Cobra maintains a kerb weight of under 1450kg.
