In today's video we are taking a look at Avalugg in the Holiday Cup, the Great League theme cup for season 10 of Pokemon GO Battle League. Avalugg is a pure Ice type with access to some solid charge moves. Unfortunately it is held back a bit by its fast moves but Ice Fang is still decent.
Joining Avalugg on this team is Trevenant in the lead and Spark Lanturn in the back. Initially I was aiming to run this team as an ABB line with Lanturn in the lead, two Pokemon weak to Talonflame in the back. After a couple of losses in the initial set, it just seemed like Trevenant would perform better as a lead given the meta I was seeing. This trade-off worked as we went on a solid run to finish out the battles.
Overall, Avalugg is a decent Pokemon with a good move set. It is by no means a "must build", but it provides an alternative Ice type option for the Great and Ultra Leagues. The latter of which will likely be where it performs better.
In this video we use a team consisting of: Trevenant (Shadow Claw, Shadow Ball, Seed Bomb), Lanturn (Spark, Thunderbolt, Hydro Pump) & Avalugg (Ice Fang, Avalanche, Crunch).
