New RANGE ROVER SPORT P510e 2024 - FIRST LOOK, INFOTAINMENT, interior & exterior
The redesigned Range Rover Sport arrives with plug-in hybrid powertrain options promising eye-opening electric range for a large luxury SUV. Land Rover equips the new Sport with two PHEV variants – the P460e and the more powerful P550e – both featuring an impressive 38.2-kilowatt-hour battery pack. This allows for a pure electric driving range of 75-76 miles according to the automaker's estimates, likely translating to around 60 miles in the real world.\n\nThat's an enormous upgrade versus the outgoing model's paltry 25-mile EV range. It makes the new Range Rover Sport PHEV far more viable as an electric daily driver for those with a typical commute. Just remember to plug it in overnight on the household charger (a full charge takes around 5 hours) and you could potentially do your daily driving without ever firing up the gasoline engine.\n\nWhen the battery is depleted, the PHEV system still returns remarkable efficiency for such a large and heavy vehicle. Land Rover claims up to 471 mpg for the P460e and 456 mpg for the P550e on the generous European test cycle. Of course, real-world results won't be quite that stratospheric, but the PHEV Range Rover Sport should still deliver excellent fuel economy relative to its size.\n\nThe P460e pairs a 139-horsepower electric motor to a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six for a combined 453 hp. Meanwhile, the P550e takes that output to an impressive 542 hp and 550 lb-ft of instantaneous torque from just 1,000 rpm. Land Rover says the P550e can hit 60 mph in under 5 seconds which is quite brisk for a 2.7-ton SUV.\nOn the road, that electric torque gives the Sport an unexpected turn of speed off the line. The transmission could be a bit sharper when using the paddle shifters, but most drivers will likely leave it in automatic mode where it juggles the gas and electric power sources seamlessly.\n\nThe interior is a luxury showcase highlighted by the giant curved glass displays for the instruments and infotainment. There's comprehensive connectivity too, with Amazon Alexa voice control and integrated Spotify. Up front, the heated/ventilated massage seats deliver first-class comfort.\n\nOpting for the plug-in Range Rover Sport does command a premium, with the P460e starting just under $100,000. But it should pay dividends in lower operating costs if you can maximize electric driving. With its impressive 60-mile real-world EV range and sumptuous cabin, the PHEV is arguably the sweet spot of the Range Rover Sport lineup.\n\n#RangeRoverSport2024\n#RangeRoverSport\n#RangeRoverSportfirstlook\n#RangeRoverSport2024exterior\n#RangeRoverSport2024interior\n#RangeRoverSportwalkaround\n#RangeRoverSportdetails\n#RangeRoverSportnew\n\n➡️ Discover all new cars before anyone else!
