New Super Mario Bros Wii: World 4 Boss (Wendy) and First Airship
20New Super Mario Bros. Wii released last Sunday, and so far I'm very impressed. Every level is unique and plays differently from every other. The variety in platforms and objects and design is just incredible. Levels are longer, tougher, and built tighter as well. 60 FPS fluid framerate, incredibly smooth geometry, and vivid colors, all with that classic 2D Mario feel and style. It's refreshing to see a game called "New Super Mario Bros." that lives up to its name in the "new" part, but there's still references and throwbacks to earlier games. One level in World 4 (after the castle) is an airship!
The challange is absolutelly insane! As of this writing, I'm struggling in world 5. It's about on-par with the difficulty and tight design found in Super Mario Bros. 3, and that's no stretch. If there's anything you'd like to see from this game, I'll be thrilled to do it!
