New Upload Method Test (Superseded, see description)
Click "Show More" to read this description.
This upload method is superseded by uploading the video file in resolutions above 1080p (1440p and 4K both work) to force YouTube to process the video with VP9 codec.
************************
This video is intended to test forcing YouTube to process this video with VP9 codec. It is done by uploading the raw file to Google Drive and import it to YouTube with "Show Google Drive photos & videos in your Photos library" enabled in Google Photos settings.
Video quality should be higher and less blocky when uploaded this way.
See Speedbre4ker's tutorial on forcing YouTube to process a video with VP9 codec:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjlEi4QAMGc
Normally, YouTube videos will be processed with VP9 codec provided if they have high number of views.
To verify, right click on YouTube player and select "Stats for nerds". Look for MIME Type and it should say "Codecs vp9".
