Combat Troops VR is a face paced FPS, with lots of customizations and nice size open interactive maps. The game is single player and online multiplayer, this review is looking at the single player component of the game. I find a lot of FPS multiplayer games, are great to play online, but suck when it comes to the single player side. This game though shows a strong single player game. Where you can still make progress to level up and the AI system is great. You won't feel like you are the only player making progress on the mission and the enemies flank you and have a good shot.

The game had a wide selection of weapons to pick from. Everything from melee, range and explosives. The game also has lots of attachments you can add to your guns, like laser sights, scopes of all sorts, handles and more. You can even change the skin of each gun to suite your image. There is also a good selection of gear to wear on your character, which is also customizable in look. You can make your character look unique and to your play style.

The movement is smooth locomotion mixed in with roomscale movements. This took a bit to get use to, but really added to the immersion of the game. Shooting and taking cover felt really good and each weapon felt different in its firing actions. One thing I did not like is the weapon and item interaction. The game features a grab system where you need to open a menu to pick what your next action with the weapon or item will be. This was a pain and slowed down what is a fast paced game. I would of like to have the option for all hand movements to interact with the weapons and items and able to store weapons on your side and back.

Over all the single player game was great. I felt challenged and had my AI buddies watch my back and save me a few times. This made the gameplay a lot of fun and i did not feel like I was the only one with skills. The maps are a great size and interactive. From going into buildings, climbing ladders and exploding items in the world. Also the cover system behind objects was nice. No enemy bullets went through the rocks I was crouched behind or made any type of magical curve to hit me. I felt like I was behind an actual wall as I crouched down in really life with my back to a wall that was not really there and peaked around for a shot or two. The game was immersive and kept my system pounding to the action.

The game is still in early access, and could use some polish here and there and a better weapon handling system, but its coming out with a lot of strong points as well. I can not speak for the multiplayer part of the game, but I had a lot of fun in the single player game and would recommend it to anyone looking for online fun with an AI system.
