New World closed beta is out, and it's possibly melting 3090 (EVGA) graphics cards. In particular, EVGA 3090 graphic cards are the ones that appear to be bricking.

Smoking hot temperatures and power spikes are being reported. I’ve played it with a 2070 and my laptop was hot. Real hot.

EVGA is reported, and this is NOT confirmed - to have used non approved capacitors.

That said, apparently New World does not cap frame rates In the menu systems, and this is where the cards are bricking.

No official word from EVGA yet, however a community manager for New World - Luxendra, noted that they a) only make standard DirectX calls as provided by the Windows API.

To be extra safe, they have also implemented a patch that caps frames per second on the menu screen.
