During the lead up to the holidays, an image was posted to the Bravely Default Twitter account that seemed to tease a Switch release of some kind with Bravely Default artwork included alongside Switch Joycon controllers and the system. Websites spotted a Fall 2018 release date listed on Nintendo Italy website and it started to spread that the Online Service wouldn't launch until late next year. While this could still be the case, it looks like this may have just been a mistake.
