The Nintendo Switch has been a success so far in its early life span and it seems to have caught Japanese developers off guard. Based on reports from insiders, Japanese developers appear to have been playing a cautious game due to the Wii U and are now trying to play catch up and get games under way for the Switch. The issue here is most won't be around until 2019 and would have been earlier had they believed more in the little system from the start. Phil Spencer made the rounds and talked about Microsoft now looking to put money into software. According to Spencer they will be looking to buy current studios and even open new ones.
