Next CW Crossover Will Introduce Batwoman and Gotham City
525According to EW, Stephen Amell announced at their upfronts presentation this morning that ‘Arrow’ will be introducing the character of Batwoman (NOT Batgirl) during the crossover event next season on the show. CW President Mark Pedowitz added that they will also be introducing the city of Gotham into the Arrowverse. They already name-dropped Bruce Wayne last season as a possible way of whetting the fans appetites for Gotham to be included in the Arrowverse so this makes sense. We’ve already seen Superman on Arrow so with Batwoman coming into the show, we may be one step closer to getting an actual Bruce Wayne or Batman on the show. Batwoman is wealthy heiress named Katherine Kane who follows Bruce Wayne’s example and dresses up to fight crime and corruption in Gotham. The most recent iteration portrays her as a woman of Jewish descent and a lesbian which could open up more storylines on the show as well. She’s a character that has been around since the 50’s and has gone through two iterations.
