Batman Prequel Series Focusing On Alfred From Gotham Creator
250Adam Chitwood on Collider.com wrote an article breaking down the THR news that ‘Gotham’ showrunner Bruno Heller and executive producer Danny Cannon have landed a 10-episode straight-to-series order for ‘Pennyworth’, a show set within the DC Comics universe that tells the origin story of Alfred Pennyworth. The series will not be tied to ‘Gotham’ at all so Sean Pertwee will not be reprising his role as Alfred Pennyworth. The show will take place in 1960s London and explore the origins of the former British SAS soldier who forms a secret company and goes to work with billionaire Thomas Wayne. The show will be on Epix, who only previously entered the scripted series realm with shows like ‘Berlin Station’ and ‘Get Shorty’.
