Niantic REMOVES Features/Bonuses From Pokemon GO!! How Are These Changes Good AT ALL?!
So, Niantic has once again proven how inept they are at how they handle the Pokemon GO game and its fanbase. Niantic had made an announcement recently, and with it were announcements involving changes/removals taking place in the coming weeks. These changes revolved around the influence of the Coronavirus such as increasing the radius of interacting with gyms, Pokestops, etc., the increased effectiveness of Incense and more. Niantic seems to think that the removal of these changes will encourage players to “get out more”, but that is an awful way of going about it. Removing these changes will not incentivize players to get out more in a good way. Losing out on these bonuses will not only decrease the games accessibility for portions of players, such as rural or disabled, but Coronavirus is STILL very much a worldwide problem and if the radius were to be reduced, that would remove the safety of people to be at a far distance to avoid close contact with others. I know asking Niantic to do better is like asking for pigs to fly, but seriously! This does not sit well with me, or many fans for that matter. This ain't a good look for Niantic.
